Aya Mousawi was engaged to lead the production of Ahmed Mater’s debut UK solo exhibition in 2010 and the launch of his first visual monograph, presented at the Vinyl Factory Gallery in Soho, London. The project encompassed end-to-end management of the exhibition, including curatorial coordination, artwork handling, marketing strategy, and the production of the opening night event. Ahmed Mater is recognised as one of the pioneers of Saudi Contemporary Art scene and has been instrumental in the development of the cultural sector in the Kingdom. The show featured a selection of Mater’s multidisciplinary works, including video installations, paintings, neon pieces, and lightboxes and his iconic work Yellow Cow. Mousawi served as Assistant Editor of the publication, contributing to the editorial direction and visual composition of the monograph, published by Edward Booth-Clibbon.
