Aya Mousawi formed an integral part of Noor Riyadh 2023. Appointed as the Curatorial Director, Mousawi was responsible for managing all international and Saudi Curators, and a team of fifteen. The festival installed 77 public artworks throughout the city of Riyadh spanning large scale sculptural installations, architectural interventions, immersive experiences, and projection mapping. Noor Riyadh is an initiative of Riyadh Art, operating under the auspices of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. It is the world’s largest light art festival and has won over 50 international awards including 14 Guinness World Records. Several of the team brought together here worked with Noor Riyadh 2023 across Curatorial and Production Departments. Mousawi brought a number of individuals into the project within the Curatorial department, including Senior Artist Liaisons and Senior Project Managers for Community Engagement & large scale commissions.
